Why can’t I return a parcel to Amazon?
Why can’t I return an international package to Amazon?
At the time of writing, we are not able to return any international shipment to Amazon. With packages that contain goods that have been sent internationally, there can be Customs Duty owed on them, which Amazon will not pay for.
As there have been issues regarding Customs Duty on Amazon Returns our courier partners are not willing to handle these goods so please do not try and return international Amazon items.
Who needs to pay Customs Duty for Amazon packages?
The recipient is the importer of the goods and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination. Orders shipped outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country.
The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches the recipient's country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be fulfilled by the recipient; Amazon has no control over these charges, nor can Amazon predict what they may be.
