Sending a gift to my sister in Sweden and she had to pay $40 to be able to get it delivered. I don't know what was included in that amount, but it's wrong.

I’m really sorry to hear about the unexpected charge your sister faced. I understand how frustrating it must be, especially when you’ve clearly marked it as a gift. Unfortunately, we don’t have control over customs fees, as these are set by the local government and are outside of our or the courier's control. Declaring something as a gift doesn’t always exempt it from these charges. We genuinely wish we could do more to help in these situations.

Delivery Late

Why put a timeframe when paying if the timeframe is never accurate when delivering?

I was very disappointed in the shipping time. I paid 50% more than I normally do for shipping with the understanding that the package would be delivered within a week. Instead it took over 2 weeks. This should not be sold as “expedited” shipping!

After reviewing the details of your shipment, we found that it reached Oslo, Norway, within just four days from the initial drop-off. However, the delay occurred during the Customs import clearance process, which is an aspect of international shipping that unfortunately falls outside of our control. Once cleared, the package was transferred to the local postal office for final delivery.
While we strive to provide accurate estimates for delivery times, customs procedures and local postal services can occasionally introduce unexpected delays. We understand your frustration, especially considering the investment you made in expedited shipping.

Still waiting for the label

Waiting for the label (3-days), customer service indicates it is an IT issue, credit card has been charged, and no way to cancel. First time we have had issues with Parcel Monkey.

Always overcharged on GST because commercial invoice does not have the freight rate included.

I try to use Parcel Monkey often. My packages almost always get delivered to Singapore with no issues. The problem is that I always get massively overcharged on the customs GST because the company with the brown trucks and uniforms uses their list shipping (full retail) rate for calculating my GST. This rate is literally 4x what I paid for shipping and adds another 8% to my shipping costs. This happens because Parcel Monkey does not include the shipping rate with the commercial invoice. Singapore customs tells the delivery company to use their list shipping rates when no shipping fee is included with the commercial invoice. I've tried to explain this to Parcel Monkey but they don't seem to have a way to fix this.
